Berlin, 21 August 2018 – Francotyp-Postalia (FP), expert in the secure mailing business and secure digital communication processes, is taking part for the first time in the EnergieEffizienz-Messe trade fair in Frankfurt, where it will have its own booth. The company will be represented there by the recently acquired IoT division Tixi.Com. This will already be the eleventh edition of the leading annual trade fair for energy efficiency in businesses, municipal administrations and the real estate sector, where a good 400 experts present current solutions, trends and best practice examples of all things relating to energy management and energy efficiency.
FP presents the FP Tixi Gateway. The Gateway, which has already sold more than 30,000 copies, supports businesses in the application of energy management systems (EMSs) in industrial processes. Journalists, and professional visitors from Germany and abroad, will have the opportunity to learn about the hardware components first-hand.
Gateways as intelligent data loggers
The use of certified EMSs, generally under DIN EN ISO 50001, is a hot topic for industrial companies in the age of climate change, the energy transition, and rising prices for raw materials.
Energy management systems help to monitor and document the energy consumption of industrial systems and individual devices, in order to subsequently facilitate measures for optimisation, efficiency gains and cost reduction in industrial processes. EMSs additionally simplify load management, i.e. the active control of power consumption, where companies or private households react to financial capacity signals from the power suppliers. Gateways are used here as intelligent data loggers. These use an interface at defined intervals to read data from the programmable logic controllers (PLC) of machinery and systems, as well as from energy meters, e.g. for electricity, gas, heat or water, and transmit the data directly to the energy management software.
Activation via smartphone and an app, no IT skills needed
The simple activation via an app is one advantage. The technician requires no special IT skills or technical knowledge, and can select the necessary settings using the app. If the wrong settings are selected, the user will immediately receive an error message and can adjust the settings directly. The activation process can thus be performed simply and quickly, saving the company time and money. You can then control the data analysis wirelessly and conveniently using the app on mobile devices.
FP Tixi Gateway acts as an enabler for integrated systems
The key benefit of FP Tixi Gateways is that they can be connected to almost any control system and any meter, and are thus extremely flexible in their application. The implementation of customer-specific interfaces is also no problem. The FP Tixi Gateway is thus a key component of a complete system, and businesses do not need to make use of different gateway solutions.
“The takeover of the IoT specialist Tixi.Com, which we completed in May, allows us to access new markets in the energy sector. It thus contributes to our growth strategy ACT, which is part of the consistent digital orientation of the FP Group. We see participating in the EnergieEffizienz-Messe trade fair as a major opportunity to increase our brand recognition in the energy industry,” says Sven Meise, Chief Digital Officer at Francotyp-Postalia Holding AG.
The booth of FP InovoLabs, Tixi.Com division is located in the Plenarsaal hall on the 2nd floor. Appointments can be arranged by mailing Messe@Tixi.Com. Free tickets are available.
