NEW FRANKING SYSTEM CONNECTS ANALOGUE AND DIGITAL POSTAL WORLDS

Birkenwerder, 2012-02-15

Francotyp-Postalia Holding AG (FP), the first multi-channel provider for mail communication, will start sales of its new franking system PostBase before CeBIT (6 to 10 March).

The new PostBase, named Phoenix during the development phase, offers numerous innovations in the field of mechatronics and software control. Users can very easily and intuitively operate PostBase using a touchdisplay. With FP Navigator – a software solution for operating the franking system – PostBase can also be directly managed from a PC. FP Navigator also provides the user with additional functions such as setting up and controlling cost centres.

A portal for the electronic world

As a specialist in physical and electronic mail communication, FP will in future also connect PostBase to the FP Portal – an online platform where customers can access all data concerning their mail communication and use additional services at the same time. In future, users will be able to directly commission consolidation services and send hybrid mails or De-Mails via the portal. “The FP Portal represents an intelligent link between the PostBase franking system and our electronic solutions. It connects the analogue and digital postal worlds. With this technology, we make it possible for our customers to use our products and services in individual combinations that are directly tailored to their needs", explains Andreas Drechsler from the Management Board of the FP Group.

At CeBIT, visitors to Hall 3, Stand D08 can learn about the new FP world and get to know the advantages of PostBase. Shortly after its launch in Germany, FP will also begin selling PostBase in the US. Additional countries will soon follow. The franking system is produced at the new site in Wittenberge.
