Francotyp-Postalia Opens up New Markets: For the first time, an oil industry expert focusses on the IoT technology of FP

IOT TECHNOLOGY CONVINCES WITH ITS ECONOMICAL ADVANTAGES; NEW OIL FILTER SYSTEMS WITH FP GATEWAYS WILL BE PRESENTED ON THREE UPCOMING TRADE FAIRS: MARKET LAUNCH AT THE SHIPBUILDING TRADE FAIR SMM, THE WINDENERGY AS WELL AS THE HEATTREATMENTCONGRESS; IMPROVED OIL QUALITY AND OPTIMISED MAINTENANCE THANKS TO REMOTE MONITORING WITH FP GATEWAYS

Berlin, 29 August 2018 – With Karberg & Hennemann GmbH & Co. KG, a leading German provider of systems for keeping oil in industrial plants clean, a German company engages the IoT technology of Francotyp-Postalia (FP) for the first time. The FP gateways, modules for the safe data transfer to the Cloud, are the core of the jointly developed solution – with immediate effect, these are used for the remote monitoring of oil filter systems. With this cooperation, FP, the expert for a secure mailing business and secure digital communication processes, shows that it is able to apply and implement its many years of know-how as an IoT pioneer also in other sectors. As of 4 September 2018, CJC, a brand of Karberg & Hennemann, presents the solution to customers and interested parties from the shipping industry for the first time at the SMM, the world’s leading trade fair of the maritime industry in Hamburg. Also in September, CJC presents it on a trade fair for wind power and in October 2018 at the HeatTreatmentCongress.

“The cooperation with an industrial provider such as CJC, which is successfully operating worldwide, is another important milestone in the FP transformation,“ emphasises Rüdiger Andreas Günther, CEO of the FP Group. “The market launch and the encouraging cooperation with CJC show that based on the franking machine technology and our DNA, we are able to address numerous sectors and customers outside our traditional target groups. Even if we are still at the outset, we are provided with entirely new future prospects in this business field.”

For more than ten years, FP has been encrypting and transferring sensitive data from more than 100,000 franking machines hardware-based, and therefore highly secure, into the Cloud. Thus, FP is an IoT pioneer operating one of the latest and safest IoT networks. With its gateways, FP also enables its customers from all industrial sectors to safely transfer machine data to the Cloud for the central monitoring and control of systems. For this purpose, gateways are offered in various versions. “Secure Gateways”, for example, are equipped with a hardware security module, originating from the FP cryptography technology. Thus, they provide the highest data transfer security to the Cloud currently available on the market.

Now, the cloud-based remote monitoring by means of the FP gateways enables CJC to promise its customers a significantly improved oil quality. The safe transfer of data from the individual oil filter systems facilitates the analysis of the oil condition. With this, a more detailed scheduling of the maintenance intervals is possible as well as an ongoing consultation of the customers concerning the efficient operation of their plants. In addition, the improved oil quality and the optimised maintenance provide customers with economical advantages. Sven Hogrefe, General Manager of the Karberg & Hennemann GmbH & Co. KG, looks forward to a great deal of approval within the circle of customers: “For us and our customers, the application of FP’s IoT technology provides a high additional potential benefit and an improved price-performance ratio. The efficiency of the FP technology convinced us immediately; however, we were really impressed by the speed, with which an optimised solution was developed together with FP. We will continue to elaborate new ideas for the further development of business models.”
