Francotyp-Postalia awarded Mittelstandspreis der Medien 2019

FP, the expert for secure communication, is awarded the distinction in the “Digital Innovation” category. The jury applauded the company on its approach to navigating the digital transformation.

Berlin, 28.10.2019 –The award ceremony of the Mittelstandspreis der Medien (SME Media Prize) on Saturday at Alte Oper in Frankfurt am Main saw Francotyp-Postalia taking home the award in the “Digital Innovation” category. The jury explained its choice with the company’s exemplary approach to utilizing the digital revolution for reinventing itself and its products. FP is the developer of a wide range of cryptographic solutions for high-security transmission of digital data in the industrial sector, with the company’s innovative products including the e-signature solution “FP Sign” and the FP Secure Gateways for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT). “Francotyp-Postalia impressed with its approach to successfully navigating the digital transformation,” emphasises Reinhard Schlieker, keynote speaker at the award ceremony.

Chief Digital Officer (CDO) Sven Meise, who accepted the prize on Saturday in Frankfurt on behalf of FP, is delighted about this endorsement of FP’s strategy. The Group has established itself as the specialist for secure digital communications, with customers including prominent names like Metro, E.ON and Lufthansa. “Our growth strategy ACT meant that we were among the pioneers tapping into digital markets. The market for IoT security, as an example, will grow to a volume of USD 30 billion by the year 2030 - there is no doubt that IoT and IoT security will be megatrends in the next couple of years. FP is well positioned for the challenge, because security is the essence of our brand and hardwired into our company,” he explains.

Each year, the business newspaper “Wirtschaftskurier” awards the Mittelstandspreis der Medien to five outstanding SMEs and entrepreneurs for their creative visions and exceptional innovations. The year 2019 saw awards going to companies in the categories “Digital Innovation” (FP), “Lifetime Achievement” (Mario Ohoven), “Company of the Year” (Henry Lambertz GmbH & Co. KG), “Sustainability in Residential Construction” (KAMPA GmbH) and “SME Start-up of the Year” (ReHub GmbH). “Wirtschaftskurier” is part of publishing house Weimer Media Group, whose publications include The European and BÖRSE am Sonntag, a stockbroking magazine.
