FRANCOTYP-POSTALIA AUSTRIA AND KOMMUNALNET.AT CONCLUDE PARTNER AGREEMENT

Wien, 2011-06-07

Francotyp-Postalia Austria, a subsidiary of the global FP Group, has concluded a cooperation agreement with kommunalnet.at. This agreement sets out an extensive partnership covering all aspects of digital post services provided in the form of hybrid mail.

Francotyp-Postalia Austria is pioneering the use of hybrid mail in Austria. This innovative solution is a combination of electronic and physical post in which the sender sends a letter in digital form and the recipient receives a conventional letter. Francotyp-Postalia Austria takes care of the printing, inserting, franking and handing over of the letter to a third-party delivery agent.

This service is now also set to become available to users of the largest employment and information portal of the Austrian municipalities registered with kommunalnet. Around 85% of Austria’s municipalities access this portal on a daily basis. With approximately 700,000 visits per month, it ranks among the leading portals in Austria in the area of E-Government and inter-communal cooperation.

“We are delighted to have secured an important cooperation partner in kommunalnet so soon after the launch of our new service. A large number of users of the portal will now be able to benefit from secure, swift and environmentally friendly hybrid mail,” explains Anton Kosar, Managing Director of Francotyp-Postalia Austria.

Lucas Sobotka, Managing Director of kommunalnet, is looking forward to the advantages arising from future cooperation with the hybrid mail provider. “We are continuing to expand our position in the E-Government market of relevance to local communities. Thanks to the use of user-friendly hybrid mail, the 2090 local communities registered with us can benefit from the service and streamline their postal communication processes,” adds Sobotka.
