Berlin, March 5, 2020 - Francotyp-Postalia (FP), expert for secure digital communication (ISIN DE000FPH9000), just introduced a new solution for cost-effective parcel shipping for the US market. With FP Parcel Shipping cloud based shipping application, FP offers its customers the ability to quickly and easily compare the rates of different providers when shipping parcels, select the best carrier and generate a parcel label with tracking. The solution is offered via the discoverFP customer portal as a SaaS based offering.
FP is continuing to implement its ACT strategy and is expanding its product portfolio in its core business of franking. With FP Parcel Shipping, FP has developed a solution to benefit from the growing parcel market. For example, online business is booming and experts expect double-digit annual growth until 2030. Parcel logistics companies are also profiting from this development, as the number of parcels shipped worldwide will increase further. According to Statista, the USA is one of the largest parcel market with 13 billion shipments annually and a growth rate of 7%.

US customers can compare shipping costs for packages from USPS, FedEx, UPS and DHL in the FP Parcel Shipping Multi-Carrier-Edition. Also included are shipment transit times, international rates, customs declarations and forms. Customers can also customize the shipping date and time. The tracking of the packages is easy and convenient for sender and recipient via the Internet.
High cost savings for customers possible
"Thanks to our solution, our customers can save time and money. Clarity and user-friendly functionality are the key qualities of the new solution," says FP Sales Director Patricius de Gruyter. An FP study shows that cost savings of up to 77 percent are possible. After a test phase in the US market, FP will decide whether to introduce the solution in European countries as well.
