CEBIT: FRANCOTYP-POSTALIA SUCCESSFULLY OPENS NEW SALES CHANNEL WITH SPECIALIST RETAILERS

Birkenwerder , 2014-03-10

Birkenwerder, March 13, 2014 – Market-listed Francotyp-Postalia Holding AG, the first multichannel supplier for mail communication and accredited De-Mail provider, disclosed new information regarding its recently determined specialist trade strategy this Monday (10) during a press conference at CeBIT.

After FP announced last autumn that it wanted to set up distribution partnerships with traditional specialist retailers from the printing and copying sector as well as IT system vendors, the company that is headquartered in Birkenwerder introduced its first collaborations.

“We want to be a one-stop provider for the customer”

ChipSet GmbH, a nationwide consultancy and system vendor with a focus on IT, ERP and document workflow, as well as CLS Mensch & Büro GmbH from Bielefeld, a complete service provider for office communications and IT, are two regionally positioned specialist retailers that have included FP products and solutions in their portfolio. As ChipSet Managing Director Dr. Jürgen Rakow said at the press conference: “We are focused on the workflow, and therefore on the document flow too. This often goes beyond the printing and finishing of documents. Many of our customers need solutions for sending their documents by post. This process step has not been part of our offer until now. As we want to be a one-stop provider for our customers, we have sought out partnership with FP. This way we are able to enhance not only our product portfolio, but also our service offering.”

FP is also partnering with consortiums of specialist retailers. In the future the company will be working with Büroring eG: This purchasing, marketing, sales and service cooperative unites around 350 independent specialist office suppliers under one roof. A few weeks ago, FP also announced its collaboration with WinWin Office Network eG, which brings together more than 30 medium-size companies from the areas of information technology and office communication under its roof.

“We are knocking on open doors”

“During our initial discussions with specialist retailers, we were practically knocking on open doors: What belongs together is simply coming together,” explains Thomas Grethe, CSO of Francotyp-Postalia Holding AG. “For companies that already supply customers with printers and copiers, the distribution of a franking or inserting system is a logical next step. And this is exactly how it is in the digital world: A system vendor that has already set up a customer's communication infrastructure is also suitably positioned to offer advice on matters relating to De-Mail or print outsourcing.”

Alongside its existing network of trade partners, Francotyp-Postalia has been addressing specialist trade as a distribution channel for some months and, in this way, is showing more presence at a local level. Specialist retailers are able to logically extend their portfolio by adding the products and services from FP – from the franking system to the innovative De-Mail solution. Through this approach, they are able to promote to the customer their positioning as an adviser with an extensive, coherent overall offer.
